Answers to frequently asked questions (FAQ)

Usage Guide, FAQ, PStill Whitepapers and How-To's

All versions now come with a user friendly Windows-style installer program and can now use the system fonts as templates for its PostScript base font set. To update just install over the old installation (be sure to save any changed config files like PStillConfig.inf or fontsub.table before!).

AddOns

PDF2i (PDF to Image file converter)

Addons extends the functionality of PStill/Win. They install 'on-top' of PStill, so be sure to install PStill/Win first.

Get your license

Please tryout the software first and when you find it working for your conversion needs you can order a license key for the program online. Without license key the program runs but will paint a watermark on each page it produces and will wait for 10 seconds before starting a conversion run.

The PostScript 'normalizing' (PSRW-type) license also includes the the option to output directly to PostScript and EPS additional to the ability to output to PDF. The standard license does always output to PDF.

See this information about the license options.

Setup PStill as automatic PDF printer in Windows

PStill can work as standalone application or be part of the printer mechanism on Windows. You can print from an application program (like e.g. Microsoft Word or Excel) and a PDF is automatically created on your system or the server where PStill runs.
